We are excited to offer machine quilting at Red Rooster Quilts & Treasures. Hopefully, the following will answer any questions you may have.
* Quilt tops should be pressed, and threads trimmed. It is best if buttons, charms, beads etc. aren’t attached before quilting.
* Quilt backs have to be at least 4” longer and wider than the top (i.e. – top 72 x 90 back 76 x 94) The back should be square, all edges even. The selvages should be trimmed off from any seam allowance and seam allowances pressed to one side. This will make the seam stronger than if you pressed the seam open.
* A $5 fee – per seam – will be charged if we piece your back together.
* Batting – we offer 80/20 batting, medium loft 100% polyester batting and 100% wool. You can supply your own if you wish.
* Thread – we have many colors to choose from. Minimal thread charge is $1 per bobbin used
* Pricing – there is a minimum charge of $25 for anything smaller than 32” x 32”. Other charges vary by detail and design based on the number of square inches in the quilt (multiply the width by the length = number of square inches.) The square inches are then multiplied by one of the following amounts:
* .015 edge to edge all over minimum spacing of 2” to 2 1/2” – no separate borders.
* .02 separate borders with an all over design – templates and echoing
* .025 custom, straight line, detail to fit the piecing of the quilt and multiple borders.
* Custom plus – when extra handling charges must be made, multiple thread changes, lots of starts and stops, done at an hourly rate.
Example for a quilt size – 72” x 90” = 6480
6480 x .015 = $97.20
6480 x .02 = $129.60
6480 x .025 = $162.00 |
